Scott Campbell - Double fine.

So, being set this new brief i was scribbling through a few crappy ideas until my tutor showed me a way of creating ideas whilst doing the simplest of tasks 'Doodling.' This was alot of fun just drawing random things asking questions whilst drawing them and coming up with mini back stories and ideas.

So eventually finding the right idea i started to draw up some concepts and well these lead me to an Artist recommended to me by my tutor again.  Named 'Scott Campbell' ( Not the tutor the artist.)

looking him up i noticed a very humerous and almost simplistic to one version of his online comic labelled double fine and this seemed quite aimed at what i wanted to do (sort of.)

Either way it was nice to look at the humor is always something i like reading in any comic

Cliff Sterret

Churning across the mass amounts of Artists blogs there are out there i cam across this it was posted a while back but some one has brought the Work of Cliff Sterret and Scanned them in high res to look at

Now if im being honest i had no idea who this guy was, but looking through these i can tell he was very good at what he did

Just a few of them im kind of a fan of old style comics and drawings the novelty to me is just brilliant.

as now days its all about computers and how they can neaten things up for you easier to produce you have to appreciate how much effort went in to doing it these ways

If you want to read more of these Polly and her Pals theres loads on this website.

Ollie Stone

While searching the Creature Mag Website i came across an Illustrator named Ollie Stone.

Looking at his work it just threw how some one could get so intricate with backgrounds and not want to burn everything around him. I really hate drawing buildings I'm not gonna lie (but if the work needs it i will do it ) but to want to do it out of recreation is crazy

but i do really admire his work the tight lines and humour go very well together

CreatureMag online

http://www.creaturemag.com/category/freak-of-the-week/

Some magazine based research.  Shall write my when my battery isn't about to die.

Hhag ...... Its not Swedish, it's a Mag.

So, forgetting i haven't blogged in a while i feel i should update.

First i shall tell you about the Magazine that our group is proposing.  Because none of us particularly wanted to write much, We chose to look at something kind of silly such as faked, headlines to illustrate.

The first initial sit down proved coming up with humerus headlines was difficult, Que e the internet. This proved that anything humerus we came up with was trumped by the real world and it's ridiculous news stories.

Researching these ( which was quite a good hour or so. ) We each picked 6 or 7 headlines and have chosen to illustrate them with which ever media we choose sticking to an A5 size.

In terms of research for this, for me it kind of seemed like the Illustration agencies that give a headline or area then collectively what they produce is put in to a book to go to possible clients.
